Ruth Langsford quips she’s ‘not a bit sorry’ in new post about her shared dog Maggie amid her bitter custody battle with ex Eamonn Holmes

Ruth Langsford joked in her latest social media post that she has “no regrets at all” after becoming embroiled in a bitter custody battle with her ex Eamonn Holmes.

The former This Morning star, 64, split from her husband in May, with sources claiming Eamonn will lose custody of their beloved dog Maggie as a result of the split.

While both stars have continued to spend time with Maggie following their split, fans have noticed that Eamonn, 64, hasn’t shared any updates about the dog in recent weeks after undergoing surgery.

Ruth let her followers know last month that the adorable border collie was recovering from surgery to remove a wart.

The star made it clear over the weekend that the border collie is still close to her, posting a message on social media showing the dog relaxing at home with her mother.

Ruth wrote in her post: ‘Another afternoon nap for grandma disturbed!!’

She then shared another post of little Maggie looking up at her and saying, “Not at all!”

The former Loose Women colleague adopted the dog in 2011 with her ex-husband Eamonn, 64, as Maggie is seen as their ‘second child’.

Discussing the couple’s custody battle, a source previously told The Sun: ‘Maggie is like a daughter to them. They adore her. But she’s growing up and they know she needs stability.

“It’s a question of who can give her that. Eamonn adores her and Maggie has been such a support through his health issues. The thought of giving her up is heartbreaking for him.

“But if Ruth can get out more often and walk with her, then she might just get Maggie involved.”

The source added that the former couple is aiming for a reasonable dealbreaker “without the involvement of lawyers.”

Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langford, both 64, announced their separation in May after work commitments ‘took their marriage in different directions’.

They were together for 27 years, married for 14 of them.

The couple have a son, Jack, 22, and three children from a previous marriage: Declan, 35, Rebecca, 32, and Niall, 30.

It was reported that Eamonn was comforted during the split by Katie Alexander, who is 22 years his junior and is also a relationship therapist.

According to The sun Katie told friends they were “planning a future together” and that their previously “close friendship” had “taken huge steps forward.”

The article previously revealed that Eamonn had been bonding with an unknown woman since last year, after they first made contact a few years ago.

The announcer is said to have gone on outings with the woman, including a visit to a safari park, and spoiled her with gifts. She is said not to have been the reason for the marriage break-up.

He also has supported a charity related to her work and helped organize a fundraising event free of charge.

The woman’s name has never been revealed. Eamonn has kept her name secret on social media. According to the publication, Ruth was unaware of their encounters until recently.

Sources told the newspaper that Eamonn treated his close friend to several extravagant outings, including a Beyoncé concert, a visit to Center Parcs last year and tickets to a match involving his favourite team, Man United, at Old Trafford.

They explained: ‘Ruth was clearly aware that her marriage was on the rocks, but as more details emerged, her dismay turned to anger.

‘Eamonn’s boyfriend is overwhelmed by the attention and kindness he shows him.’

The couple met on Twitter after the woman commented on a post, which sparked a conversation.

Friends explained that the woman is good at dealing with ‘grief’ and ‘breakups’, so it seems fitting that she would support Eamonn during this uncertain time.
