Ruth Langsford returns to Loose Women on Monday after a two-month absence following her split from husband Eamonn Holmes.

ITV star Ruth, 64, who last appeared on the ITV show in April, won’t be discussing the split with Eamonn in detail as she wants the show to remain as normal as possible.

A good friend of Ruth’s told The mirror: ‘It’s been a tough few weeks but she now feels it’s time to return to Loose Women. It’s a job she loves and even though the split was really tough, life has to go on.

‘Just don’t expect any big news or revelations about the divorce, she wants to keep that private.’

Ruth, who first appeared on Loose Women in 1999, is expected to be joined on the show by Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Janet Street-Porter.

Meanwhile, Eamonn is still working at GB News after the split and has not spoken about the couple’s split, although he has still been seen wearing his wedding ring.

In May, it was announced that the couple had split after 27 years of relationship and 14 years of marriage. Ruth has not spoken about their split yet.

This came after Eamonn posted a message on Instagram earlier this month saying it was “hard to stand but I want to walk from now on” despite his ongoing health issues.

In June he attended the TRIC Awards, where he walked with a walker and accepted the award for best breakfast programme for his morning extravaganza on GB News.

The presenter has suffered from chronic back pain for years, but after a failed operation his condition has worsened and he now has difficulty walking unaided.

Eamonn is said to be getting comfort from divorced mother-of-three Katie Alexander, 42, who is 22 years his junior, following his split from Ruth.

He has been spending a lot of time with the therapist in recent weeks. According to sources, the therapist hopes that their close bond can grow into a long-term relationship.

A source said The mirror: ‘Katie helps Eamonn through the tough times, but doesn’t want to be seen as a marriage destroyer. Their friendship has grown over the last few months, but Eamonn’s marriage has been over for a while.’
