Rust actor Alec Baldwin arrives in Montana with a camera crew in tow

Alec Baldwin has flown into Montana a day before filming resumes on his troubled western film Rust, which currently opens on Friday.

The veteran actor, 65, was photographed by DailyMail.com as he arrived at an airport in Bozeman, Montana, where he picked up a rental car after getting off a United flight from New York via Denver.

According to a call from the Montana Film Office crew, filming on the now-unionized set will begin tomorrow and continue through May 22 at the Yellowstone Film Ranch, 20 miles south of Livingston.

Baldwin was accompanied by members of a film crew who traveled with him from New York. The crew of four women was seen filming him on Wednesday giving Hilaria a tender goodbye kiss before leaving for the airport.

DailyMail.com saw the film crew arrive at his Manhattan apartment around 7 a.m. Wednesday and meet the actor outside.

Baldwin smiled and shook hands with the crewmen before telling them that his wife and children would be leaving in a few minutes.

Shortly afterwards, Baldwin came out with his sons and wife Hilaria, smiling and carrying their youngest daughter in her arms. Baldwin loaded his sons’ book bags into an SUV, spoke briefly to the cameras, then drove them to school, while Hilaria led the crew of four women inside.

Baldwin returned home to say goodbye, rolled his suitcase into the SUV and headed for the airport with the film crew in tow.

Hilaria looked comfortable on camera, smiling with her seven-month-old daughter Ilaria Catalina.

She wore loose jeans, a white top and flannel with sneakers before slipping into slippers.

Production ended abruptly in October 2021 when a prop gun was held by Baldwin fired a live round that killed cameraman Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico of the movie set.

Baldwin is currently facing an involuntary manslaughter charge over the mother’s death, as is rookie armorer Hannah Gutteriez-Reed – who will have no further role in Rust.

Both face a two-week preliminary hearing in the case beginning May 3, but Baldwin has already obtained a waiver and is not required to appear in person.

In February, the Santa Fe district attorney dropped a gun enhancement charge, a misdemeanor that would carry a five-year prison sentence if convicted.

Despite the controversy, a Rust Movie Productions spokesperson said on Tuesday CNN filming continues.

It was announced earlier this year that Baldwin would continue to star for Rust and that another cinematographer would replace Hutchins. It was also confirmed that filming would not be completed on the original set at Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico.

Director Joel Souza, who was wounded by the same bullet that killed Hutchins, will also return to complete the project.

Earlier this week, a judge sealed the terms of a civil settlement between Baldwin and Hutchins’ widower, Mathew, and their son.

‘What drives my decision are actually the interests of the minor child. And that’s one of the most powerful reasons to seal a case,” the judge said at a hearing on Monday.

Despite the controversy, a spokesperson for Rust Movie Productions told CNN on Tuesday that filming will continue at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana.

Mathew Hutchins and Baldwin came to a new agreement in October. Part of that stipulated that Hutchins will serve as the film’s executive producer.

After settling the lawsuit last year, Mathew claimed he did not want any further “allegations.” But in January, Hutchins’ family said they supported Baldwin who was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Last Thursday, Baldwin filed a motion to quash another lawsuit filed by Hutchins’ parents and sister, alleging that they had distanced themselves from her “physically, financially and emotionally for years before her death.” .

Baldwin said in court documents, “The loss of a daughter and sister is undoubtedly painful under any circumstances.

“Yet plaintiffs who had physically, financially and emotionally distanced themselves from Halyna for years prior to her death have no viable cause for action against defendants,” the documents read.
