The former president of Russia today threatened to hit The Hague with hypersonic nuclear missiles after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin for war crimes in Ukraine.
An irate Dmitry Medvedev warned ICC judges to “look closely at the skies” as he threatened to fire a Russian ship’s hypersonic anti-ship Onyx missile into the field.
His warning came after the ICC on Friday called for Putin’s arrest, accusing the Russian despot of committing war crimes by kidnapping Ukrainian children from their homes and deporting them to Russia to give them to Russian families.
Medvedev warned that the ICC’s decision will have “monstrous” consequences for the international war as he said he would attack the court with hypersonic nuclear missiles.
“Everyone is walking under God and missiles. One can imagine a straight-up use of a hypersonic Onyx from the North Sea by a Russian ship at the courthouse in The Hague,” warned Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council.

He continued, “Unfortunately it can’t be shot. And the court is just a miserable international organization, not the people of a NATO country.
So they don’t start a war either. [The judges] be afraid. And no one will be sorry. So, civil judges, take a good look at the sky.’
Medvedev also warned that the ICC’s decision to issue an arrest warrant against Putin would have dire consequences for international law.
“They decided to try a president of a nuclear power that does not participate in the ICC on the same grounds as the United States and other countries.
“The consequences for international law will be monstrous.”
Medvedev had previously compared Putin’s arrest warrant to toilet paper.
The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin. No need to explain WHERE this paper should be used,” Medvedev wrote on Twitter, adding a toilet paper emoji.
Medvedev – once seen as a liberal Kremlin but now a hectoring hardliner – served as president between 2008 and 2012, and had two separate terms as Russian prime minister.
His threat to fire a series of hypersonic nuclear-powered missiles at The Hague came after Putin’s favorite TV propagandist Vladimir Solovyov demanded a nuclear strike against any Western country willing to carry out the dictator’s arrest.
Solovyov called for the firing of a Satan-2 intercontinental ballistic missile ‘bastard’ German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann after he said Putin would be arrested if he set foot in Germany.
He asked, “Do you want to wake up a Russian bear?” You’ll wake it… It’ll tear your soft flesh to pieces.’
He stressed that the US, China and India – like Russia – do not recognize the court’s jurisdiction.
“Just so they know, any attempt at implementation [of the arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin] is a declaration of war and an immediate nuclear attack on the country – immediately,” he told viewers in Russia’s 11 time zones.
“Any attempt to go against the will of the Russian people… must be a strike.
And that idiot [German] Justice minister [Marco Buschmann] should meet the Sarmat [Satan-2 hypersonic missile]…
‘If we have to put troops in the Netherlands for that, then we have to put troops in the Netherlands. And I don’t care if it’s a NATO country.’

Solovyov asked the West: “Would you like to wake up a Russian bear?” You wake it up. You wake it up.’
Margarita Simonyan, head of propaganda network RT, said: “As we know, it will wake up in spring anyway.”
Solovyov said: “And it is hungry in the spring. It will tear your soft flesh to pieces. There will never be any negotiations with you. Until you are destroyed. Until you groan for forgiveness.’
Loyalist MP and reservist Lieutenant General Andrey Gurulev told state television channel Rossiya 1: “It is time to decide whether a step to the right or to the left – and you [the West] you get a nuclear attack on your head.
‘We shouldn’t be afraid of it. It was not our president [Putin] who was accused of this criminal case [by the ICC].
“It was for all Russian people, who support our president… All Russian people were declared illegal.”
The president of the ICC, Piotr Hofmanski, has admitted that while the judges of the court have issued the orders, it is up to the international community to enforce them. The court does not have its own police force to enforce orders.
‘The ICC does its job as a court. The judges issued arrest warrants. Implementation depends on international cooperation,” said Hofmanski.
A possible trial of Russians at the ICC remains a long way off as Moscow does not recognize the court’s jurisdiction and does not extradite its nationals – a position reaffirmed on Friday by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in a statement. first reaction to the arrest warrants.
“The decisions of the International Criminal Court have no meaning for our country, not even from a legal point of view,” she said.
