  • The desks are part of the Putin regime’s plan to propagandize the war in Ukraine.

Two Russian schoolchildren ‘passed out’ when they were shown new school desks decorated with pictures and details of fighters killed in Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, according to local media.

Other students have refused to sit at ‘ghoulish’ desks at a school in Irkutsk, Russia, which display pictures of dead national guardsmen.

One teacher said: “They were shocked by the crying of the relatives and they fainted,” said one teacher.

One student added: ‘It’s the same as learning on a tombstone.’ Another source said: “They think the desks are macabre.”

The Putin regime is looking to propagandize the war in the school and desktop tributes to the fighters are part of this campaign.

Students are also expected to receive military training and sing patriotic songs.

Professor Alexei Volk, in charge of the cadet classes at the school, admitted that the sight of the desks had been too much for some students. But he said most saw it as “an honor to sit at those desks.”

National guardsmen Akhmed Magomedov, Igor Meklyaev and Ivan Maksimov were among those immortalized at school desks.
