Russian astronomer who advised Putin’s failed Luna-25 mission to the moon is rushed to hospital for ‘sharp decline in his health’ – after unmanned spacecraft crashes

- The Luna-25 mission ended in failure after the spacecraft went out of control
A top astronomer who worked on Russia’s failed space expedition has been rushed to hospital following the crash of the Luna-25 spacecraft on the surface of the moon.
Mikhail Marov, 90, who was described as a key adviser to the mission, suffered a “sharp decline” in his health after the crash.
The Luna-25 unmanned spacecraft went out of control and crashed into the moon’s surface on August 19 during Russia’s first lunar expedition in 47 years.
Marov’s health condition arose after he called for an investigation into the failure of the expedition.
Russian sources are already blaming endemic corruption within the Russian space agency for the failure of the mission.

The unmanned Luna-25 was Russia’s first attempt to land on the moon since 1976
The Luna-25 Expeditions failure is now expected to lead to a blame game, which in turn is expected to lead to Putin firing those he holds responsible for Russia’s humiliation.
Professor Marov, a staunch supporter of the lunar mission, was devastated by the failed landing and made it clear that this was the reason for his sudden hospitalization at Moscow’s elite Central Clinical Hospital (TsKB).
The Russian professor is a starship design giant and an expert on Mars, Venus and the Moon.
He made it clear that Luna-25 was his “last hope to see the revival of our lunar program” and this was now interrupted.
“It’s sad that we didn’t manage to land the device,” he said.
He is now calling for full transparency on the reasons why the Luna-25 expedition ended in failure.
“There was a flaw in the algorithms for launching into lunar orbit,” he said. ‘It must be found.
‘This will not be a major problem for the specialists who will be involved in the work of the committee. I think the answer will be found in the foreseeable future.’
From the hospital, Marov—a Soviet-era space giant—told reporters, “I’m under observation.
‘How can I not worry?
“This has been a big part of my life. It’s all very difficult.’
The Luna-25 spacecraft spiraled out of control while being prepared for pre-landing
Mikhail Marov calls on Russia to continue its efforts to go into space and reach the moon
Professor Marov called on Russia to continue its efforts to go into space and land on the moon.
The unmanned Luna-25 spacecraft spun out of control as it prepared for pre-landing.
“The device moved in an unpredictable orbit and ceased to exist due to a collision with the surface of the moon,” admitted Roscosmos, the Russian space agency.
It was the most ambitious space project of Putin’s nearly 24 years as president or prime minister, underlining the country’s demise since the turbulent days of the Cold War when Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space.
Russia had not attempted a moon mission since Luna-24 in 1976, when communist leader Leonid Brezhnev ruled the Kremlin.
Yury Borisov, a Putin loyalist and former deputy prime minister who now heads the Russian space agency, now sees his future with the space agency in jeopardy
Mr Borisov is accused of ending investigations into corruption and misuse of budgets at the space agency.
