Russia is facing an “epidemic” of erectile dysfunction, a Moscow doctor has revealed, facing jail time for criticizing the Ukrainian invasion.
According to Professor Igor Gundarov, Putin’s war is making Russians too eager to have children.
He added that the dictator is “crazy” and “doesn’t even understand what he is saying” because he is hiding the shocking figures of war losses.
The expert made his damning statement during a round table discussion at the Moscow city council.
Such criticism of Putin and the war is rare, and carries the risk of draconian prison sentences.

Gundarov said: ‘(We have an) epidemic of psychogenic infertility, erectile dysfunction. Why is there an epidemic of infertility? People live as if in a zoo, with hopeless longing, fear… that is the price we are willing to pay for success in the (war)…’
“Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) speaks beautifully, but our demography is actually terrible,” said Gundarov, scientific director of the Research Institute of Public Health and Health Management at the Sechenov Medical Academy in Moscow.
‘They blame women for everything, and (Putin) doesn’t even understand what he’s saying.
‘They say women don’t want to give birth anymore because the standard of living has gone up… she has to study, have a career, so she puts it off until she’s 30, and then she can’t.’
He said that such ‘crazy’ reasoning about the declining population was nonsense.
He explained: ‘That’s not true at all, they just want to give birth. (We have an) epidemic of psychogenic infertility and erectile dysfunction.
‘Why is there an epidemic of infertility? People are living like in a zoo, with hopeless longing, fear… that is the price we are prepared to pay for success in the (war)…’
Putin’s invasion had clear demographic consequences due to the high number of casualties, which remained hidden from ordinary Russians, he warned.
“We are going to conquer Kiev, here the price is demographic,” he said.
‘Why don’t they tell us the numbers of the dead? Who are they hiding them from? Everyone knows every soldier, so who are they hiding them from? Us…?’
He talked about rising mortality among young people, which had increased by 40 to 50 percent.
“That’s why the number of abortions has decreased, there is no one left who can conceive children, because children are not conceived with a finger,” said the 77-year-old Gundarov, mocking Putin’s regime.
Gundarov also asked: “Why don’t they tell us the numbers of the dead? Who are they hiding them from?”
‘All those who have children… end up (dead) in the steppes near Cherson (in Ukraine) among the tall grass.’
He called for an official body that would deal with Russia’s population crisis in a “mature way.” “And don’t invite (Putin) – he’s useless anyway,” he said.
Life expectancy for men in Russia was already bad before the war – 67.5 years. For women it was 77.5.
The war has caused hundreds of thousands of casualties among Russians, especially young men. This not only reduces the male population, but also affects the birth rate.
