Russell Wilson has delivered a rallying cry to his Denver Broncos team following their 21-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley on Sunday.

Wilson wants the win to be a launch pad for the rest of the season for the Broncos. The win puts them 3-5 and the 33-year-old believes his team can continue from here.

Afterwards in London, Russell said: ‘We just need a little momentum.

“We still have a long season to go. I’ve played a lot with the ball, been in a lot of games and experienced some great things and some difficult things along the way.

“And it’s just part of the journey. Every time you want to climb a mountain doesn’t mean you won’t fall a little bit. We just have to keep climbing.’

The anticipation rested on Russell’s shoulders this weekend as he returned to his team’s lineup after missing last week due to a hamstring injury.

“I wouldn’t be here if I couldn’t handle the pressure,” he said. ‘I enjoy it. These guys were great too, they picked me up every day, picked me up.

“Their work ethic, how they come to work every day, whatever happened, whatever was said. At the end of the day I also know who I am.

“God has given me an amazing ability to keep going and keep playing and keep doing what I love most every day and keep leading. I won’t blink at the end of the day.’

The Broncos will have a rest week next week, but will return to action against the Tennessee Titans on November 13.
