He was one of Hollywood’s biggest bad boys, but marriage tamed him. But Russell Crowe has admitted he became “a fucking slut” after his divorce.
The 60-year-old Gladiator star, who officially split from wife Danielle Spencer in 2018, said he has fully embraced his new single lifestyle after 15 years of marriage.
He admitted his romantic antics were “ridiculous” and that there was also a particularly memorable affair with a “significantly younger” woman.
He said: ‘To be completely honest with you, after my divorce was finalised I became a f***ing slut. I was f***ing ridiculous, I had s*** everywhere. You know the old saying, “There’s a girl in every harbour?”‘
The womaniser, whose exes include Meg Ryan and Jodie Foster, also admitted to using the controversial ‘lovebombing’ technique to seduce potential girlfriends.

Mr Crowe, who starred in A Beautiful Mind and American Gangster, said: ‘I would put these things on. They have this saying now, you lovebomb someone.
“I’d go fuck people like crazy and love bomb them because I have a few bucks to spare so you can do that kind of stuff.”
The candid comments were made during a live performance by Crowe’s band The Gentlemen Barbers at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Wednesday night. Although Russell is best known for his acting career, he is a longtime musician and is currently touring the UK.
The New Zealand-born actor also opened up about the time he was set to go on a date with a younger woman in France, but she decided to turn the A-list star down in favour of one of Britain’s biggest seaside cities.
“The situation was with a young lady and when I say young, I mean considerably younger than me. Considerably, let’s leave it at that,” he explained.
“As we got closer to the dates we were supposed to meet in Paris, I found out she had gone somewhere else. Now you just have to put yourself in this position, okay?
‘Here are the options: you, and the person, and Paris. She decided to go to Southampton instead. F*** off. If you pull out the list of the 50 best places to visit before you die, guess what’s not on the f***ing list?’

The Oscar winner explained: ‘It took me a few years before I looked in the mirror one day and thought, ‘What are you doing? Nothing is going to get better or happier by approaching things this way.”
The couple recently sparked engagement rumours when Ms Theriot was spotted wearing a stunning diamond ring on her ring finger. They were also rumored to be eyeing an Italian wedding after they visited a church in Rome in June.

The actor is noticeably absent from the upcoming sequel to Gladiator, the film that made him an international star.

Other big names starring in Gladiator II, due out in November, include Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Sir Derek Jacobi.
When Gladiator was released in 2000, Crowe, who played General Maximus Decimus Meridius, could never have imagined how many fans it would attract, including a mysterious believer in the Vatican.
He once received a call from a Catholic representative, who invited him to walk through the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel after hours, without any tourists present. Crowe jumped at the chance and took his mother along for the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Describing the “magnificent” experience of “immense beauty,” Crowe said he pushed his mother into the world’s most famous chapel early in the morning, before the sun had risen. It was then that their mysterious host, who had been walking with them, said: “Today I will turn on the Pope’s lights for you.”
The actor asked what he meant.

‘Well, the Pope when he comes to meditate in the Capella di Sistina [Sistine Chapel]he likes to see all the colors, so we put some lights in it,’ he explained.
Crowe and his mother were overwhelmed, he said: ‘It was unbelievable. The blues, the reds, it just sparkled. It was unbelievable, what an experience.’
Later he thanked his host, adding modestly, “You didn’t have to do that, why did you do that?”
