Russell Brand has taken his family for a lavish getaway to Disney World in Florida – as the Crown Prosecution Service considers charging him over historic sex abuse allegations.
The controversial comic is facing a number of allegations over his behavior towards women – with Met detectives confirming last Saturday that they had handed over a file of evidence to prosecutors.
Less than 48 hours later, he traveled from London Heathrow Airport from his home in Oxfordshire to catch a flight to Florida on Monday morning, where he is currently staying with his wife and children in one of Walt Disney World’s most luxurious hotels.
A source said: ‘It is understood Russell was all over the news last weekend due to the police investigation into him and two days later he left the country.
‘He clearly wants to get away from all the noise around him and spend some time with the family – he has treated his wife Laura and their three children to a great holiday, the full Disney experience, but we don’t know how long he plans to is to stay there.

‘He’s staying in one of the best places around – definitely five star – it costs a fortune but it’s obviously fully loaded so he can probably afford to stay for a while if he wants to.
“I imagine it suits him well to stay far away for now, hoping this all goes away before he comes back.”
After years of rumors about his behavior, spurred by comments from comedian Katherine Ryan who anonymously spoke out about a prolific “sexual predator” working in British television without explicitly naming him, Brand was publicly hit with the allegations by a Channel 4 Dispatches documentary in September 2023.
The allegations, which include rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, relate to a series of incidents between 2006 and 2013, when he held high-profile roles at BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4.
He has previously denied the allegations, calling them “very, very hurtful.”
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement on Saturday that it had received a number of reports of sexual offenses involving women following the original Channel 4 and Sunday Times investigation.
A spokesman said: ‘A man in his 40s had been interviewed by officers three times under caution.
“A file of evidence has now been transferred to the Crown Prosecution Service for consideration.”

The CPS confirmed that police have been handed a file so they can consider charges in relation to allegations of historical sexual offenses by a 49-year-old man.
The allegations against Brand stem from a seven-year period when he was at the height of his fame, hosting national television and radio programs and starring in Hollywood films.
The BBC has previously said it has received five complaints about the comedian’s behavior while presenting radio programs at the corporation.
Earlier this year, Channel 4 apologized for missing a complaint made against Brand in 2009. Production company Banijay UK also apologised, saying concerns raised about the presenter while presenting Big Brother spin-off programs had ‘not been appropriately escalated or adequately addressed’.
Chief Inspector Andy Furphy, whose team is leading the investigation, said: “We have a team of dedicated officers providing specialist support to the women who have come forward.
‘We are committed to investigating sexual crimes, regardless of how long ago they occurred.’
