Russell Brand records video denying ‘serious allegations’ ahead of mysterious Channel 4 Dispatches investigation airing today

Russell Brand has ‘absolutely denied’ what he called ‘serious allegations’ on his YouTube channel, ahead of a mysterious Channel 4 Dispatches investigation.

The highly anticipated program will air on Saturday evening, sparking speculation about who or what could be at the center of the investigation.

Rumors on Friday suggested the show would discuss a number of celebrities, and it was said this would be potentially damaging.

The comedian, actor and internet personality told his 6.5 million subscribers that “serious” and “criminal allegations” have been made against him that he “absolutely refutes.”

Brand said he had received two “extremely disturbing letters” from a “mainstream media TV company” and a newspaper.

The letters included “a litany of extremely blatant and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid things like community festivals that need to be stopped, and that I shouldn’t be able to attack the stories in the mainstream media on this channel,” Brand said.

“But amid this litany of astonishing, quite baroque attacks, often very serious accusations that I absolutely refute,” he continued.

‘These allegations relate to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the cinema. And as I’ve described extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous.”

He went on to say that the relationships he had during that time were “always consensual.”

‘I have always been transparent about that. Almost too transparent then, and I am transparent about it now,” he said.

“And when I see that transparency has metastasized into something criminal that I absolutely deny, I wonder: Is there another agenda at play? Especially when we’ve seen coordinated media attacks before, like with Joe Rogan, when he dared to take a drug that the mainstream media didn’t approve of, and we saw a flurry of headlines from media outlets around the world using the same language. .’

Brand’s statement came amid rumors on social media about whether a scandal involving a famous person could play a role in the investigation airing today.

Channel 4’s TV Guide lists the highly anticipated program simply as ‘New: Dispatches Special’. A special 90-minute Dispatches investigation’.

Radio Times magazine also listed the program this week, with the description: ‘Dispatches – Investigative series on issues in British society, politics, international current affairs, health, religion and the environment.’

The program ends at 10.30pm but is also repeated on Sundays at 10.50pm on Channel 4 and on Mondays at 9pm on sister channel 4seven.

The Channel 4 News anchor and Strictly Star’s post fueled further speculation about the 90-minute special. He tweeted a photo of the schedule alongside the caption: “Something’s going on,” before deleting it about an hour later.

Sources close to Mr Guru-Murthy, 53, who has worked for Channel 4 for 25 years, said he was told to remove the program because the nature of the program is ‘sensitive’.
