Russell Brand films himself performing a baptism in his underpants as he continues his conversion to Christianity
Russell Brand’s conversion to Christianity continued this week as he interpreted the Bible and performed a baptism in his underpants.
The 49-year-old was seen in a lake with two other men, one of whom was also wearing nothing but his boxing trunks as they performed the religious practice.
Brand posted the photos on social media with the caption, “It may seem a little early to be baptizing people, but the apostles did it on the first day, so here we are.”
Since December 2023, the comedian and host has published several posts discussing his growing relationship with Christianity.
This week, he uploaded a video interpreting the Bible, expressing gratitude for God’s sacrifice.
‘How can we ever understand with the conscious limited mind that God himself came to earth and was sacrificed, that we can be saved and rise again, that we can have eternal life, with our limited consciousness this is not possible’, he said. .

Brand was charged with rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse last year as part of a joint investigation by Channel 4’s Dispatches programme, The Times and Sunday Times.
He has strongly denied all allegations about his conduct, which allegedly occurred at the height of his fame between 2006 and 2013.
In April this year, Brand was baptized in the Thames as he turned to religion following the allegations against him.
He said he felt “nourished” and “like a new resource” was being “turned on” in me after his own baptism.

The former Buddhist made no mention of the accusations he faced in the video posted to his social media, but did say he faced “challenges” in his life.
He described baptism as an “incredibly profound experience” and that “something happened during the baptismal process that was incredible and overwhelming.”
He told his followers that he felt changed and in transition, saying: ‘Even though it has not even been 24 hours in the intervening period, I already feel irritated: I have three children, I have a job, I have challenges , I still live in the world. But I feel like a new resource has been turned on within me.”
