RuPaul’s Drag Race announces return to 90-minute episodes after backlash from fans, but is it too late?

RuPaul’s Drag Race episodes will no longer be snatched, starting next month.

On Thursday, the increasingly popular show announced a return to its normal 90-minute episodes after backlash from fans and even a petition that received thousands of signatures, but some fans believe it may be too little too late.

The show has been at the center of some controversy as the series caused the network to switch to MTV and a new series called The Real Friends Of WeHo would be slotted between Drag Race and Untucked, which meant shorter hour-long episodes.

The official Twitter for the Emmy Award-winning reality competition show currently in season 15 posted the news, explaining: “Get ready, runners.” [racing flag emoji] #DragRace returns to 90-minute episodes starting Friday, March 10 at 8/7c on @MTV [crown emoji]’

The news was met with a polarizing reaction from the Drag Race faithful, as some celebrated while others were unhappy that it would take another few months for extended episodes.
