Samantha then starts running, films as she ticks off the miles and checks in regularly to talk about how she felt.

During the first few kilometers she talks about how she has a half marathon coming up, what she is training for and about the music she listens to.

But about halfway through her run at mile five – which was in a fairly remote area – Samantha’s tone changes and she mentions seeing a man in what she believes is a red Pontiac driving past her repeatedly.

“There’s a man in a red car that’s driven by me twice and every time he drives past me (because I’m standing by the window) and he looks back but he drives past,” she explained, becoming more and more of region.

“It makes me very nervous.”

As she continues to run, Samantha becomes more and more worried and looks out for the car to pass by again.

She then said she went back to her car, but noticed it was parked right next to hers.

“I don’t have a good feeling about this,” she said. “I have to run past this car to get back to my car, but there’s literally no other way.”

Samantha then decided to ask her parents to pick her up, saying in a shaking voice that she “can’t risk this.”

“I don’t know what to do,” she said angrily. “It’s just one of those things where you think it won’t happen to you until it happens to you.”

‘I don’t want to risk anything. I’ll have my parents pick me up.’

Samantha then went to a neighbor’s house and asked if she could wait in their yard until her parents arrived.

After the flight, Samantha said she eventually called the police and reported the car to them.

“I listen to way too many murder podcasts,” she joked.

‘Please be aware of your surroundings when you go for a run. Carry protection, just be safe.”

After her parents picked her up, Samantha reflected on her run and urged people to always be careful and trust their instincts.

‘Why am I crying now? As a woman, this is incredibly difficult to watch. So real,” one person shared.

“You did absolutely the right thing!!” another assured her. ‘I’ve been running for forty years. I’ve had to do this more than once. ALWAYS trust your instincts.’

“Ugh when you said, “I don’t know what to do” and almost cried, I felt it in my soul. It’s such a remote area, way too isolated, it would scare me to death too,” a third user wrote.

“It’s always better to be safe, even if you feel like you’re just being paranoid,” someone else stated. ‘Safety is a priority.’
