Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim made a young fan’s ‘dream’ come true this week after kindly taking him for a spin around Carrington training center in his car.

The Portuguese boss, who has endured a difficult start to his life as Red Devils boss with three defeats ahead of Monday’s Premier League match against Newcastle, was branded ‘a humble, normal’ after making the moving gesture man’.

Amorim’s United recorded a sensational 2-1 comeback win over local rivals Manchester City earlier this month, but have since slipped to 14th in the Premier League, losing 3-0 to Bournemouth and 2-0 to Wolves, while also crashed out of the Carabao Cup. with a defeat at Tottenham.

Despite struggling to get positive results early in his United career, Amorim’s demeanor has endeared himself to Red Devils supporters. His kindness was on full display at Manchester United’s training ground this week.

In footage shared on social media on Sunday, the young supporter approached Amorim’s car in Carrington to hand him what appeared to be a card, prompting the Manchester United boss to shake his hand and pose for a photo .

Moments later, after telling Amorim he liked his car, the astonished fan was invited to sit in the passenger seat and was driven around the training center by the 39-year-old Manchester United boss.

The video ended with the words: ‘Speechless, I was extremely grateful! Thank you Ruben for making a dream come true’.

Fans were quick to praise Amorim for his touching gesture on social media.

Commenting on the video, one supporter said: ‘What an absolute legend’.

A second fan added, “Dude is epic! We have your back, Ruben’.

“What a nice guy we have as a manager,” said another.

“Protect our manager at all costs,” said a fourth. ‘What a nice gesture. Great man and what an experience for the kid.’

Less than two months after taking over as permanent successor to Erik ten Hag, Amorim is already under pressure at Manchester United.

The Red Devils are just eight points clear of the relegation zone ahead of Monday’s home game against Newcastle, with thirteen points already separating them from fourth place.

The match at Old Trafford starts a tough run for Amorim, who will next face Arne Slot’s in-form Liverpool at Anfield before traveling to the Emirates to face Arsenal in the FA third round in January Cup.

Amorim stressed that Manchester United must enter survival mode after suffering their fourth defeat in five Premier League games against Molineux last week.

He wrote off the Red Devils’ chances of qualifying for Europe in the Premier League: ‘At the moment we just have to survive and win sometimes.

‘No, no, no (to the prospect of European qualification). We have to work on many things at our club, both on and off the field.’

Perhaps even more alarming for United fans, Amorim said he has ‘no idea’ how long it will take for his side to improve.

‘I have no idea. No idea,” he added. “Rather than trying to understand how much time it will take, it’s just about improving day by day, trying to watch videos and using every minute of training and trying to win some points because that’s very important at the moment.

‘The idea takes time. This will be a difficult moment. We are far from the end of this moment and that is all. We have to keep going and focus on the next game.”
