Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is said to be working to bring one of Bayern Munich’s established stars to Old Trafford, according to reports in Germany.
The Portuguese head coach has managed just three games in charge of the Premier League after being signed from Sporting Lisbon in the wake of Erik ten Hag’s sacking in early November.
But Amorim is already eyeing a turnaround at Old Trafford, and an attempt to shake the club up from a slow start to the season.
Ahead of the January transfer window, the new manager has been tipped to make a number of transformative signings, including luring Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres to Manchester.
However, one star Amorim would like to work with for the first time is currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga.
According to Sky Sports Germany, Amorim is reportedly planning to lure Konrad Laimer to join Manchester United.

But ahead of revamping the struggling squad, Amorim will face some tough Premier League tests as the games pile up over the festive period – starting with a visit to title-chasing Arsenal in the Emirates.

Before the match, Amorim was keen to make it clear to his players how tough the journey to North London would be after facing Ipswich and Everton, and Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
“I would like to say several things, but I have to say it again: the storm will come,” Amorim warned on Tuesday.
‘We are going to experience difficult moments and in some matches we will be discovered. I know that because I know my players, know football and follow football.
‘I know it’s very difficult to be the coach of Manchester United and say these things. We always want to win, no matter what happens, but we know we are at a different point when you compare it to Arsenal.’
