Liverpool goalkeeper Ruben Amorim has once again laughed off suggestions he is heading to Anfield this summer, with the Sporting boss saying he has not discussed his future with his squad as they only talk to him about days off.
Amorim, 39, is still a frontrunner to take up the soon-to-be vacant Liverpool job when Jurgen Klopp leaves next month.
The Sporting manager has guided his team to the top of the Portuguese rankings and into the cup final against Porto or Vitoria on May 26.
And many in Portugal believe he is destined for Liverpool, despite sources close to the Merseyside club claiming an agreement has been reached and they are still doing due diligence on a number of contenders.
Amorim said last week that he would not answer any further questions about his future, but indicated today that he has not spoken to his team about his future.

“I didn’t say anything to the players,” he said before Sporting’s match against Famalicao.
‘When it was said I had a deal with Liverpool, I felt the need to talk, but I left that part to the press conference. I don’t get anything from the players, they just ask about days off!’
The former Benfica midfielder, who retired from playing at the age of 32, had previously denied reports in Lisbon that an agreement had been reached with Liverpool. The Reds are conducting a thorough search for Klopp’s successor and Amorim is one of the candidates being considered.
“I’ll say it again: I am the coach of Sporting,” he said on Thursday. ‘There was no interview with any club, no agreement with any club. I am, as always, focused on defending my club.’
Sporting can take a seven-point lead with five games to play if it wins Famalicao on Tuesday.
