Big day in the Big Apple! Royalists in NYC flocked to the pub at 5 a.m. to celebrate the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla

The Big Apple rang the bell in style as Royalists made their way to the city’s iconic landmarks and classic British pubs in the early morning to celebrate the moment.
Manhattan residents witnessed King Charles’s official coronation at 7 a.m., but the early start did little to dampen the excitement as thousands of champagne-popping revelers headed for monarchy-themed deals and flag-clad bars to celebrate. to celebrate the occasion.
Times Square was full of early morning celebrations just hours after the Empire State Building lit up in the iconic red, white, and blue of the Union Jack.
And after kicking off the day at traditional English pub The Churchill, DailyMail.com has trawled New York to show how the historic day was commemorated across the pond.

The Churchill pub in Manhattan pulled out all the stops ahead of the coronation
Corks were already popping as the sun rose over the East Coast on Saturday, with plenty of New York hot spots enjoying the boost from Coronation Day.
Rachel Rosales told DailyMail.com, “I had to dress up for the occasion. I love English history, from way back, even before Richard II. I have great respect for the family.’
And while famous faces including Katy Perry and Lionel Richie arrived in London for the historic day, Times Square’s regular cast of tourists and performers did the same more than 5,500 miles away.
A great roar echoed across the square as Charles was officially proclaimed king.

British ex-pat Ben Lawson and his American wife Leslie Lynn got up at 5am this morning to celebrate the ceremony.
Ben said, “We’re thankful we’re both here to watch it. It’s a very interesting kind of feeling.

‘My grandmother is watching from the UK, and she lived for the Queen’s coronation, and it’s a wonderful feeling to know she’s watching it, and I’m watching it with her. I am always proud to be British.’
Jonathan Athamhood said: ‘I’m just incredibly excited to be here celebrating the coronation of King Charles, and we’re very proud of him.
“This is a celebration, so it would be rude not to disclose the occasion. It’s an early pint for myself.
“Very exciting opportunity, and it’s something I’ll be talking about with my kids. His wife:
“My husband is British and I like to support all things British… I wonder what the next 20 years will be like with Charles as king.”
