Up to 200 people evacuated after gas line allegedly ruptured at Royal North Shore Private Hospital

A suspected gas main break has led to up to 200 people being evacuated from a major hospital and TAFE campus in North Sydney.

It is understood a contractor was working on Westbound Street in St Leonards and reportedly ruptured a gas pipe, causing a leak at around 3.30pm on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Fire and Rescue NSW told Newswire no one was injured and the gas company quickly turned off the gas.
