Nearly 3,000 customers received a letter last week incorrectly stating that there were no stamps with their Exchange Form

Thousands of Royal Mail customers who have exchanged stamps under the Swap Out program have been wrongly told they have not been received.

In a major blunder, nearly 3,000 customers received a letter last week incorrectly stating that no stamps were included with their Swap Out form.

Royal Mail says it has arranged for an apology letter and the replacement stamps to be issued the day after it identified the error.

A spokesperson for the company said: “We have tightened our processes in response to this incident and apologized to customers.”

Old style stamps will become unusable next summer, so households should use or exchange them before then.

To exchange your stamps, please fill out the form at: royalmail.com/sending/barcoded-stamps.
