Royal fans swoon over Charles III’s boisterous equerry during the coronation
Royal fans swooned today at the historic coronation of the return of King Charles’ dashing officer.
Equerry Major Jonathan Thompson, 39, stole the show when viewers noticed the return of the King’s loyal official.
Part of the 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland, the handsome officer was once the Queen’s top bodyguard, but now serves His Majesty and has been seen by his side since Queen Elizabeth’s death.
The soldier, from Northumberland, has made royal guards drool, but unfortunately for you ladies, the officer is happily married to a glamorous marketing executive.
Mr. Thompson, known as ‘Johnny’ by his friends, tied the knot with 44-year-old Caroline in 2010.

The officer attracted so much attention that Twitter users couldn’t help but share their admiration for his good looks
The couple have a four-year-old son and two black Labradors named Odin and Piper – a nod to his military days in Scotland.
Twitter users were quick to express their delight when one enthusiastic fan wrote, “That’s dashing Major Johnny. Hands off!!’
Other admirers couldn’t help but point out the army officer’s strikingly good looks, too, as another fan wrote, “Did anyone else clock the handsome dude in the kilt?”
The major is so handsome that some admirers are getting a little too territorial and have warned other groupies to “keep their hands off.”

Thompson previously went viral at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral last year.
He was caught on camera calmly and coolly clearing away a pencil box cluttering the King’s desk, while Charles signed the proclamation proclaiming him the new monarch after Queen Elizabeth’s death.
Major Thompson was also featured in the procession as the Queen’s coffin was escorted from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall for the four days of lying in state.
Royal eagle-eyed viewers were eager to point out the officer’s most significant past performances.
TV footage showed him standing aside as the coffin was brought in and he was seen speaking briefly to the Duke of Kent.
He also accompanied ex-Prime Minister Liz Truss to meet the King at Buckingham Palace and, as always, wore a plaid kilt and large fur coat.

The equerry was also spotted standing behind Harry and Meghan at the Platinum Jubilee National Service of Thanksgiving celebration at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Mr. Thompson joined the Army in 2006 and is a platoon commander, according to his LinkedIn.
He is believed to have worked as an equerry to Charles for the past two years.
His profile also reveals how he attended Aberystwyth University where he graduated in 2004 with a degree in economics and politics with international studies and he gave his hobbies and interests as rugby and mountaineering and he was also a member of the undergraduate officer training corps.
Wife Caroline was educated at Windsor Girls School and nearby Strodes College where she completed three A Levels in Media, Psychology and Photography before gaining an HND from Southampton Institute in Design Communications.
She has worked for Packard Bell, BMW and is also a gym instructor and avid rider, and last year helped with her marketing and design skills to set up the website for the charity Horses4Health.
Major Thompson’s parents, Ian and Elizabeth, were once neighbors of Scottish comedian Billy Connolly, with their Grade II listed 300-year-old house in Deeside next to his, but they have since moved on.
