People took to Twitter to mock the Prince of Wales for beard-based “jealousy” towards his younger brother, Prince Harry, 38.
In his explosive memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex revealed a series of grievances and run-ins he had with Prince William, including William telling him to shave off his beard before his wedding to Meghan Markle.
This story was retold during the 90-minute interview Harry used to publish his memoirs with ITV presenter and old friend Tom Bradby.
This sparked outrage from many viewers, who took to Twitter to joke that William was ‘jelly’ and ‘mean’ because Harry was allowed to keep a beard, while his brother had to shave off facial hair that ‘the ladies get’. they fainted’.

Twitter users believed Harry’s account and were infuriated by William’s alleged behaviour, with many calling him “childish” and “jealous”.

Harry explained that he had to ask his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, for permission to have a beard for his wedding in 2018, a privilege that was not granted to William when he married Kate Middleton in 2011.

He wrote in his book: ‘And yet now I dared to ask another question: Grandma, please, can I, for my wedding, keep my beard?
It’s not a small question either. Some thought a beard was a clear violation of longstanding etiquette and norms, especially since I was getting married in my army uniform. Beards were prohibited in the British Army.
However, when his grandmother gave Harry permission to keep his facial hair, William “became furious”.

Some Twitter users took a jovial view of Harry’s claims, saying that William couldn’t grow a beard. However, some people said that they preferred the future King with facial hair.
Harry added that William “wouldn’t let it go” and that the discussion continued “in person, on the phone, for over a week”.
It culminated, according to Harry, when William ordered him to shave off his beard.

Harry concludes: ‘Ah, there it was. After returning from an assignment with the Special Forces, Willy sported a bushy beard and someone told him if he was a good boy, he would run out and shave it off. He hated the idea of me enjoying a benefit that had been denied him.

Kensington Palace declined to comment on Prince Harry’s allegations.
