Roy Jones Jr has warned Jake Paul that Mike Tyson can hit with the force of a mule kick.

Tyson, 57, and Paul will meet at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20 in an exhibition fight streamed live on Netflix.

There is a thirty year age difference, but boxing icons have warned Paul about the enormous power of his opponent.

Jones Jr fought Tyson in 2020, a split-decision draw that was billed as the ‘Lockdown Knockdown’ and generated more than £63 million in revenue.

“Mike Tyson is still the strongest puncher I’ve ever been in the ring with,” he told Shane Mosley.

Mike Tyson still punches with the power of a ‘mule’ kicking into his 50s, claims Roy Jones Jr.

“The first time he hit me in the chest, it felt like a mule had kicked me in the chest.

“And when he hits someone with a shot like that, they go outside or down, especially guys who aren’t used to getting hit like that.

“With people like Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, these guys are bigger and they can handle it.

“But Jake Paul, I don’t think he can handle that.

“It could hit him right on the chin, we’ll see, but it’s going to be tough [for him].’

This assessment does not come from an old weakling.

Jones Jr is a former four-weight world champion, holding titles from middleweight to heavyweight.

No one else has started his career as a light middleweight and managed to win a heavyweight title, a testament to his unique skillset.

He had 76 fights with 66 wins and 47 knockouts, taking on Bernard Hopkins, James Toney and Joe Calzaghe.

Lennox Lewis has also warned Paul, a man whose career in the spotlight started by posting videos on Vine.

Lewis, who fought Tyson in 2002 and knocked him out in the eighth round to retain his three world titles, said: ‘It’s going to be a great fight, I’m looking forward to it.

‘No [I’m not upset about it not being a professional bout], because I would really feel bad for Jake Paul. I don’t want him to get hurt.’
