Los Angeles police discovered a massive cache of weapons and tactical gear — including ghost guns and a ghillie suit — in the apartment of the man who was later released on $35,000 bail.

Roy Allen Henson, 39, was charged with discharging a firearm and gross negligence after police responded to reports of gunfire and found a gun factory in his downtown LA apartment.

Neighbors reported hearing gunfire just before 1 a.m. Saturday. When police arrived on the scene, police heard another fifteen to twenty shots.

Henson was released Sunday on $35,000 bail, according to police.

Police said there was no evidence Henson planned an attack with the weapons, which included fabricated “ghost guns” and parts, a ghillie suit and tactical armor.

Just this weekend, an LA father pulled a gun on two masked intruders who tried to break into his home.

The father, who has not yet been identified, was approached from behind by one of the masked robbers around 7:30 PM on Saturday as he walked to his home in the affluent Mid-City neighborhood.

“A shot fired during a #DTLA building call to @911LAPD generated a radio call for @LAPDCentral. A rapid response #Communication and superior #tactics led to the arrest of one suspect and the recovery of a cache of #weapons!” Lillian L. Carranza of the LAPD tweeted at X

The homeowner then grabbed his gun and started a shootout with the intruders.

“There was nothing in my house worth dying for. But I was willing to die for my family,” the man told KABC.

He added that his five-month-old baby, wife and nanny were all in the house at the time of the incident. The average home price in Mid-City is well over $1 million.

The terrifying incident comes as crime in Democratic-run Los Angeles has soared due to the police crackdown. Lax law enforcement has led to an exodus of residents to Republican states like Texas and Florida.

CCTV footage shows the moment the man locks his car in the driveway and looks for his keys, with a drink in his other hand.

At that moment, the two intruders jump the moving fence surrounding the house and one of them runs after the homeowner.

The father, a middle-aged white man, quickly turns around and throws his hot tea at the suspect just before he pulls his gun from his pants and starts shooting at both intruders.

The two suspects then shot back at the man and the gunfight began. One jumped back over the front fence and the other hoped over the side fence

The father reacted immediately as he threw his hot tea at the suspect (pictured) and pulled his gun from his pants before starting to shoot at the two intruders.

As shots fire, the two masked attackers scatter while one fires back at the homeowner.

The father then follows one suspect who jumps the side fence, while the other jumps the front fence and flees the scene.

He said that “out of nowhere” he felt someone behind him put a gun to his back.

The father and his family filed a police report with the LAPD’s Olympic Division.

DailyMail.com contacted the LAPD and they said there is no update on the investigation at this time.

‘It’s only a matter of time before these people are caught. I think they should just choose a new career before they end up in prison,” the father told KABC.

The homeowner wasn’t sure if he hit one of the intruders, but he told Fox11 that if anyone else tried to harm him and his family again, “they’re going to die for trying to get into this house.”

In September, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law that imposed an 11 percent tax on top of what federal governments had already passed on gun taxes.

According to crime statistics, 718 robberies occurred in LA between October 1 and October 28.

So far in 2023, there have been 7,111 robberies in the region, already higher than the number of robberies reported in 2022.

Overall crime rates in the Golden State have soared recently as flash mobs and looters have raided storefronts.

An increase in homelessness and drug addiction has also plagued the area and contributed to the increase in crime.
