Rowville, Melbourne: Mother and baby abducted from Stud Park Shopping Centre by knifeman
A mother and her baby were kidnapped from a shopping center and forced on a terrifying drive through Melbourne by a man armed with a knife.
The woman had just parked at the Stud Park Shopping Center supermarket in Rowville, in Melbourne’s south-east, at around 6pm last Friday when she was suddenly confronted by the man.
The perpetrator, described as Asian in appearance and aged between 20 and 35, threatened the mother with a knife and forced her back into her Suzuki S Cross.
Victoria police have released photos of a man they want to speak to after a mother and her baby were kidnapped from a Melbourne shopping center
He sat next to her baby in the backseat and then forced her to drive to electrical shops in Cranbourne and Frankston.
The knifeman then forced the mother to buy four Apple MacBooks while he remained in the backseat with the child.
He then made his way to the driver’s seat and told the mother to get in the backseat before driving to Robert Booth Reserve.
After two terrifying hours, the knifeman got out of the car and fled along the Dandenong Creek path, carrying the four laptops.
The mother and her baby were not physically injured during the terrifying encounter, but the knifeman remains on the run.

He wore a gray colored hoodie, a green fluorescent vest over the hoodie and black/gray pants with black running shoes.

Victoria Police on Friday released photos of a man they want to speak to about the incident.
