“Did you know that hypertension (high blood pressure in plain language) is the number one risk factor for stroke?” she wrote in her caption.

‘Australia’s largest blood pressure check runs in May and today is World Hypertension Day, and I promise to check my blood pressure. It’s actually not something I’ve asked my doctor to check recently. Of all people I should know better!

“Please do the same and remind (or rather pester, nag, insist!) your friends – no matter how young and healthy they are.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll no doubt nag you about it again. It’s so simple, painless and can save a life.’

Jessica has been candid about her grief over losing her partner.

“After his death I was in a cocoon of shock,” she told The Australian in December.

“It was months before I fully understood what had happened… before the pain, already raging, raw and erratic, became unbearable.”

“All the time I had said things like…it is better to love and have lost than not to love at all…but I was fooling myself and was not prepared for how bad it could get .’

Since her epic achievement, the young sports star has become an author, motivational speaker and businesswoman.
