World sailor Jessica Watson has paid a touching tribute to her late partner Cameron Dale.

The 29-year-old took to Instagram this week and posted a rare and touching photo of her posing with her lover.

Cameron died suddenly of a stroke at the age of 29 in late 2021.

In the candid photo taken in 2019, Jessica can be seen kissing Cameron on the cheek as the pair ride the New York subway.

Jessica, who rose to fame at age 16 after sailing solo around the world in 2010, has been a dedicated health campaigner since Cameron died of undiagnosed high blood pressure.

In her post this week, the courageous advocate made a plea for followers to get regular checkups.

“Did you know that hypertension (high blood pressure in plain language) is the number one risk factor for stroke?” she wrote in her caption.

‘Australia’s largest blood pressure check runs in May and today is World Hypertension Day, and I promise to check my blood pressure. It’s actually not something I’ve asked my doctor to check recently. Of all people I should know better!

“Please do the same and remind (or rather pester, nag, insist!) your friends – no matter how young and healthy they are.

Cam was only 29 when he suffered a fatal stroke in 2021 due to undiagnosed hypertension.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll no doubt nag you about it again. It’s so simple, painless and can save a life.’

Jessica has been candid about her grief over losing her partner.

“After his death I was in a cocoon of shock,” she told The Australian in December.

“It was months before I fully understood what had happened… before the pain, already raging, raw and erratic, became unbearable.”

“All the time I had said things like…it is better to love and have lost than not to love at all…but I was fooling myself and was not prepared for how bad it could get .’

Since her epic achievement, the young sports star has become an author, motivational speaker and businesswoman.
