A beautiful rural retreat that was once the home of celebrated Australian author Paul Jennings has hit the market with a price list of $1.1 million – $1.2 million.
Located in Warrnambool on the Victorian coast, 276km west of Melbourne, the classic two-storey cottage features five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Jennings, 80, lived in the sprawling home when he wrote some of the stories that later became the basis for the favorite children’s television series Round the Twist.
The best-selling author extensively renovated the house while working and living there between 1992 and 2001 Herald Sun.
Built in the Victorian era, the cozy charmer retains many of its original period features, including 4-metre ceilings, French doors, ceiling roses, lead lighting and sandstone-covered fireplaces.

Many fans of Round the Twist will immediately recognize the iconic Split Point Lighthouse, which sits next to the main building.
Round the Twist recently attracted a whole new legion of fans when it started streaming on Netflix in 2021.
The beloved children’s show is set in the fictional Port Naranda and focuses on the Twist family and their supernatural adventures.
The cast included Richard Moir, who originated the character of lovable single dad Tony Twist, a role later taken over by Andrew S. Gilbert.
