Two dogs have been seized following the tragic death of a five-week-old girl.

The baby’s desperate parents took the baby suffering from severe head injuries to Moruya Hospital on the south coast of New South Wales on Saturday night.

The baby died several hours later early Sunday morning.

Paramedics were called to a Moruya home following reports that a baby suffered injuries after being attacked by a dog, but found out on the way to the baby’s scene. he was being transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.

A NSW Police investigation has been launched while investigations continue.

Two Rottweiler-type dogs living in the house since then have been seized by Eurobodalla Shire Council.

It is unknown if the dogs have been euthanized since then.

A spokeswoman confirmed that council rangers had confiscated the dogs, but was unable to comment further due to the ongoing police investigation.
