Rosie O’Donnell is seen on set of And Just Like That for FIRST TIME as she shoots late-night scene with Cynthia Nixon in NYC – as it’s speculated she’ll be Miranda’s new love interest

Rosie O’Donnell was first spotted filming on the set of And Just Like That… in a scene with series regular Cynthia Nixon.

On Friday, the 62-year-old comedian joined Nixon, 58, in the heart of New York City, where they shot what appeared to be an emotionally moving scene in the middle of a bustling crowd.

In a touching moment in Times Square, the pair shared plenty of physical contact as they held hands and were later wrapped in a warm embrace.

This comes as fans speculate that O’Donnell’s character Mary, who is currently little known, will be Miranda’s new love interest in the upcoming third season.

While the on-screen lovers filmed, Nixon’s real-life wife, Christine Marinoni, was also spotted on set and showed her support.

It was previously announced that O’Donnell would join the all-star cast in early May following reports of the departures of Karen Pittman and Sara Ramirez.

In January, DailyMail.com exclusively reported that Ramirez had been officially dropped from the show after the creators decided their divisive character Che Diaz was “a waste of airtime” and “annoying” fans.

Deadline first reported that Pittman, who played Professor Nya Wallace in the spinoff Sex and the City, would be leaving her role after two seasons due to scheduling conflicts.

For her first scene, O’Donnell joined Nixon in Times Square and the pair filmed with a bag of candy in their interlocked hands.

The official Instagram page for the reboot series also shared a photo of O’Donnell posing next to Nixon for a sweet photo.

Referencing O’Donnell’s graphic T-shirt featuring images from the critically acclaimed Broadway musical about the untold story of the witches of Oz, the caption read: “A bad night in Times Square.”

In the snapshot, the actresses stood in the middle of a bustling crowd and colorful billboards, but turned heads with their beaming smiles.

On May 1, it was announced that the talk show host would join Nixon, SJP and Kristin Davis in the upcoming third season of AJLT.

Since the exciting news, there has been intense speculation that O’Donnell’s character Mary would be the new love interest of Nixon’s Miranda.

Last season, Miranda dated Ramirez’s character, Che Diaz, until their split on the series and the actor was booted from the show.

The Sex and the City reboot series was renewed for a second season last summer, and production on the upcoming season began that same month.

As filming is still ongoing, a release date for the series has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
