Teenage boy, 16, arrested after woman and 11-year-old girl nearly stabbed to death near Brisbane

A mother and daughter fight for their lives in the hospital after being repeatedly stabbed when a teenage boy was taken into custody.

Emergency services were called to a house in Rosewood, 60 km southwest of Brisbane, around 10:30 pm on Thursday evening.

It is understood that an 11-year-old girl and her 39-year-old mother were stabbed repeatedly in the torso during a knife attack.

The pair were rushed to hospital in critical condition.

A 16-year-old boy, believed to be living with the victims, has been taken into custody and is being questioned by Queensland Police.

A crime scene has been declared in the residence while the investigation continues.
