Rory McIlroy has been ranked as the richest young person in Northern Ireland on the Sunday Times Rich List for 2024, just days after filing for divorce.
The golfer’s net worth has risen to £225 million after rising by £25 million in the past year, making him the country’s richest person under the age of 40.
Former billionaire Lady Ballyedmond tops the list, with a fortune of £914 million, in the final list of the 350 richest names. With McIlroy the 13th richest young person in all of Great Britain.
However, the 35-year-old’s worth could be taken away after the end of his seven-year marriage to Erica Stoll was confirmed this week.
Details of his divorce from Stoll after they were revealed in court documents filed in Florida, which outlined shared custody and a parenting plan for their daughter, Poppy, and indicated the couple had signed a prenuptial agreement.

He was still seen wearing his wedding ring at Quail Hollow last weekend, but did not wear it on his finger during practice for the PGA Championship earlier this week.
