Rory McIlroy is spotted for the first time since filing for divorce from wife Erica Stoll… as golf star arrives at Valhalla to practice ahead of 2024 PGA Championship
Rory McIlroy was spotted practicing for the PGA Championship on Tuesday afternoon for the first time since filing for divorce from his wife.
The Northern Irishman was seen teeing off at Valhalla following the news that he and his wife, Erica Stoll, had split.
McIlroy and Stoll married seven years ago.
McIlroy’s communications team confirmed that a divorce has been filed.
The 2024 PGA Championship starts Thursday, with McIlroy teeing off at 1:15 p.m. local time.

The couple share a three-year-old daughter, Poppy, who was born in 2020.
McIlroy’s communications team emphasized his “desire to ensure that this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible.”
They added that the golfer will have no further comment.
McIlroy first met Erica at the 2012 Ryder Cup, where she was working for the PGA.

However, it wasn’t until a few years later that the pair would enter into a relationship.
McIlroy was previously engaged to tennis star Caroline Wozniacki before they split in 2014.
The four-time champion and Stoll kept their relationship largely private before marrying in Ireland in 2017.
