Several cars were trapped after a roof collapsed at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1, a fire official said on Friday.

When the information came in, about three fire tenders rushed to the spot.

“Around 5.30 am, we received a call about a roof collapse at Delhi Airport Terminal 1. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” said an official of the Delhi Fire Brigade.

The incident took place when Delhi-NCR was hit by a spell of heavy rain on Friday.

Meanwhile, several regions of Delhi-NCR were spotted experiencing intense waterlogging problems. Visual images show Govindpuri area of ​​South Delhi and Noida Sector 95 being inundated by waterlogging.

Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) received incessant rainfall from early hours of Friday, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Parts of Delhi were lashed by heavy rains on Thursday, providing much-needed relief from the sweltering heat.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the weather for the next seven days in Delhi. Mostly cloudy weather is forecast, with varying intensity of rainfall and gusty winds.

According to the IMD forecast for June 28, light to moderate rain or thunder is expected, with temperatures similar to the previous day and wind speeds up to 35 kmph.

The weather on June 29 is expected to be slightly cooler, with a high of 36°C and a low of 28°C. The city is likely to experience light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with wind speeds of 30-40 km/h. On June 30, temperatures drop further to 34°C, with moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds.

For July 1 and 2, the IMD predicts thunderstorms with moderate rain, with temperatures remaining stable at a high of 34°C and a low of 27°C. Wind speeds continue to vary, with a range of 25-35 km/h.
