Jo Wood has addressed criticism surrounding ‘nepotism babies’, stating that her children have always been ‘pretty grounded’ and ‘wanted to work’.
The 67-year-old model has opened up about her take on the term, which refers to those born into famous families who are given an edge over others in their careers.
She shares artist daughter Leah, 44, and gallery owner son Tyrone, 39, with her Rolling Stones rocker ex-husband Ronnie, 75, and had CBD guru Jamie at 18 during a relationship former.
During their marriage, she also became a stepmother to 46-year-old musician Jesse, whose biological mother is the late Krissy Findlay.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline after walking in the VIN + OMI ‘Spaced’ fashion show on Wednesday, she gushed about how ‘proud’ she is of her brood.
They have done it all by themselves! Ronnie Wood’s ex-wife Jo has defended her children amid criticism of ‘nepotism babies’ (L-R: Leah, Tyrone, Jo, Jamie and Jesse pictured in 2013)
The television personality said: ‘My daughter is a brilliant mother. She has two beautiful children, she is very good.
“She doesn’t stand for nonsense and she’s doing beautiful paintings right now. She has done it all herself.
‘Ty is working for Maddox Gallery, he has a very good job. Jamie is making his CBD, he makes CBD by hand, he vapes. Yes, no, I’m proud of my children.
My kids have always been down to earth and wanted to work, you know.
“I think the only time they didn’t work out was well, Leah always painted, but Ty, when we went to lockdown.
‘Instead, Ty rebuilt the barn in my yard and he did it without help. He said, “Mom, I need to do something. I’d like to rebuild the barn.”
I said, “Come on, it’s big… big, three stables.” I told him, “You can’t do that, you don’t know how to build.” He said, “Give me a chance.” I said, “Okay, then.”
‘It took him five months and he completely rebuilt it and we converted it… I designed it. “I’ll see if you can do it, this is what I want,” I told him.

‘And he rebuilt it and we have the most beautiful barn. And then we have the middle room which is like a game room. You could play cards on a round table, in the middle, and the like. And the last room is another kitchen.
‘It feels like you’re in Texas. It is so beautiful. And he did that… I couldn’t. Yes, I had to eat my words.
Jo’s comments follow controversy in December when Dakota Johnson, Maya Hawke, Zoë Kravitz and more stars with famous parents were mocked on the cover of New York Magazine’s The Year of the Nepo Baby.
Celebrity nepotism is nothing new, but ‘nepo baby’ has become increasingly popular as a shorthand for making fun of it.
Family: Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, she raved about how ‘proud’ she is of her ‘land’ offspring, who always ‘wanted to work’
On Wednesday, Jo looked sensational when she hit the catwalk ahead of London Fashion Week, having walked for VIN+OMI countless times before.
Rocking a gothic chic runway look, her quirky black dress was embellished with an alien print and two wasps on the chest.
Cut to one shoulder, the asymmetrical number hung over her arm and featured a small slit at the bottom of her legs.
The sustainable designers consider themselves eco-innovators and have also worked with Debbie Harry, 77, of Blondie.
With a strong focus on garments made from UK waste plant sources, the couple are famous for their textiles made from King Charles’s waste nettles at Highgrove.
Speaking about her love for the brand, Jo said: “We need to change the way we live and what we wear and they prove that anything can be taken and turned into clothes and it’s beautiful and it fits well.”
‘We don’t need to be doing more and more things. We have so many things on this planet that we need to control now. Now is the time to start taking care of this planet.
‘I don’t understand, if we can make recyclable plastic, why isn’t everything recyclable now? So why isn’t all plastic biodegradable like they use?
‘The necklace I wore tonight was made from Charles’s plastic pots. He should come, I dare him! She would love outrageous outfits.
