Ronda Rousey is ‘DONE with WWE’ after losing to Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam…with the former UFC star ‘now a free agent’ less than two years after her return
- Rousey returned in January 2022 for her second stint with the company
- She held multiple championships before losing to former partner Baszler
- It’s unclear what’s next for the former MMA star once she leaves WWE again
Ronda Rousey is reportedly done with her time in WWE.
The former women’s champion lost to former tag team partner and fellow former MMA star Shayna Baszler on Saturday at the company’s most recent Premium Live Event, SummerSlam.
The ex-UFC champ has had a mixed second stint with the promotion after returning to the Royal Rumble in 2022 and winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship before falling to the card.
She was recently tag team champion alongside Baszler, before Baszler turned on Rousey at the Money in the Bank event at London’s O2, sparking their feud.
According to GiveMeSportRousey had a “hard out” clause in her WWE contract that allowed her to leave her deal at any time, and she is now no longer with the company.

Rousey returned to WWE in January 2022 after a few years of absence following her first spell
Rousey rose to fame in the UFC, enjoying a career in the promotion starting in 2013 and leaving after a loss to Amanda Nunes in 2016.
She was the first female fighter to sign with the UFC in 2012 and took part in their first-ever female fight when she debuted. She then became the UFC’s first-ever women’s champion.
When she left, she entertained the idea of signing with WWE and made guest appearances before signing a contract in 2017.
She enjoyed a first stint before leaving after her first defeat at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, eventually returning for her second stint in the company in early 2022.

Baszler, Rousey’s true friend, will continue with the company and a big win is expected after her win on Saturday.
She has been presented as a ruthless fighter who shows little mercy to her opponents, and is expected to soon be put on the map to challenge for major titles.
She attacked Rousey during their title match against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan in London in early June, leaving her partner before they lost the match.
They then feuded, with the rivalry ending at SummerSlam before Rousey left.
