Storm revealed on her own Instagram on Bank Holiday Monday that she had taken the day off so she could spend some time with her two little ones.

She shared a sweet photo of her with Cooper and Coco enjoying an ice cream together, captioning it: “One of those days where you spontaneously decide not to rush back to the office and instead take the afternoon off so you can you can make a detour to the playground ‘.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Ronan and Storm Keating for comment.

Storm’s care comes after she was diagnosed with a rare condition in 2021 that left her temporarily paralyzed from the waist down.

She was diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome, which causes sudden compression of the nerves in the lower back and can lead to loss of sensation, incontinence and paralysis if not treated immediately.

The Australian star underwent emergency spinal surgery after waking up one morning to find parts of her body were ‘completely numb’.

Speaking on Loose Women in December 2021, Storm said: ‘It was all gone. My legs, my intestines, my bladder, everything.’

She revealed that because coronavirus restrictions prevented Ronan from visiting her in hospital, Ronan was left outside ‘crying in the car’ during the terrifying ordeal.

She recalled: “Because of COVID he couldn’t get into the hospital, so all he got was me on WhatsApp, or me on the phone talking to the surgeon.

“He was sitting in the parking lot, crying in the car outside the hospital, waiting to hear how it would go.”

Ronan admitted that hearing his wife talk about the incident “brought back the same feeling” he experienced at the time.

The Life Is a Rollercoaster hitmaker recalled how he was “crying his eyes out” because he “didn’t know” what his wife was going through in hospital, adding that it was the first time he had ever called an ambulance.

After what Storm described as ‘the most terrifying week’ of her life, she underwent a full year of rehabilitation and is now able to walk again following the successful operation.

What is cauda equina syndrome?

Cauda equina syndrome is a serious condition in which the nerves at the very base of the spinal cord become compressed.

Symptoms include:

  • lower back pain
  • numbness in your groin
  • paralysis of one or both legs
  • rectal pain
  • loss of control over the bowels (bowel incontinence)
  • loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence)
  • pain in the inside of your thighs

Doctors recommend seeking immediate medical attention if someone develops these symptoms.

They should visit their GP or the emergency department (ED) of the nearest hospital.

If cauda equina syndrome is not treated quickly, the nerves to the bladder and intestines can become permanently damaged.
