Fans reacted on social media as Cristiano Ronaldo was unable to hide his frustration as Portugal fell to Morocco in their quarter-final clash.

Youssef En-Nesyri put the African nation ahead in the first half when he headed home when Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa ran out of his goal and missed the ball.

Unsurprisingly, there was a camera on Ronaldo to get the star’s reaction on the bench, and the 37-year-old heaved a deep breath before looking at the camera.

Cristiano Ronaldo was furious when Portugal fell behind against Morocco in the quarter-finals.

The moment did not go unnoticed on social media, with one Twitter user commenting: “Ronaldo looks so fucked up.”

Kurt Coslain commented that the bench striker was “furious”, while someone else tweeted that he “must be angry”.

However, another Twitter user suggested that Ronaldo was not upset, tweeting: “Zero care factor.”

Ronaldo was once again on the bench for the start of Portugal’s match against Morocco

Ronaldo, for the second game in a row, started on the bench, and coach Fernando Santos again opted to start Goncalo Ramos, who scored a hat-trick last time out against Switzerland.

Portugal won that last match 6-1, but fought back to topple Morocco and instead went to half-time down 1-0.

It was a bad goal to give away when En-Nesyri leaped high over Manchester City defender Ruben Dias and headed into an empty net after goalkeeper Costa failed to get to the ball as he tried to punch it clear.

Ronaldo came on as a substitute in the second half to try to salvage the game for Portugal

Ronaldo wasted no time in coming on at the start of the second half, substituting midfielder Rubén Neves in the 51st minute for a change of attack.

In doing so, Ronaldo equaled the FIFA record for men’s caps.

He equaled Kuwait’s Badr Al-Mutawa in his 196th appearance, in what will likely be his last World Cup.

Ronaldo has not started in the last two games, due to his angry reaction to being sent off against South Korea.

Coach Santos admitted that he “didn’t like” Ronaldo’s reaction before the match against Switzerland and then left him out of the match.
