Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho has taken ownership of his first venture after investing in a relatively unknown American team.

The 44-year-old, who was once recognized as the best player in the world during his illustrious career, is now looking to delve into the other side of the sport as he strives to become a successful owner.

Ronaldinho retired from professional football in 2018 at the age of 38 after trophy-laden spells at Barcelona, ​​AC Milan and with the Brazilian national team, where he won the World Cup.

Ronaldinho is known for his flair and guile and wanted to stay in football. In addition to building his own esports team, he has now become an investor in Greenville Triumph SC.

Ronaldinho was sworn in as a shareholder on Tuesday morning during a fancy unveiling at the New York Stock Exchange, where he was also given the honor of ringing the bell to start the trading day.

Announcing the addition of the Brazilian legend, Greenville Triumph and Liberty stated: ‘The Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty today announced that global football icon Ronaldinho Assis has joined the club’s ownership group.

“For me and our group, this is an opportunity to support the growth of football at all ages and levels, and to be part of a community that values ​​an international presence and a unique mix of cultures.”

The move also comes as the United States steps up preparations for the 2026 World Cup, with Ronaldinho’s presence helping to promote the competition.
