Police in Arizona have arrested a man suspected of threatening to kill Donald Trump.
Ronald Syrvud, 66, was arrested Thursday evening, approximately seven hours after the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office issued a search warrant for him at approximately 2:30 p.m. local time.
“This subject was taken into custody without incident in Cochise County. We appreciate all of the information received and the incredible cooperation with all of our public safety partners,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
Police previously said there are multiple other warrants out for Syvrud’s arrest on separate charges, including driving under the influence and failing to appear in court in Wisconsin, and failure to register as a sex offender and misdemeanor hit-and-run in Arizona.
It happened six weeks after Trump was hit in the ear by a bullet during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Sheriff Mark Dannels had stepped up security in the area around the section of the border wall Trump visited while the search for Syvrud was underway.
Documents show he previously registered as a Democrat and has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1990. In 2000, he was convicted of, among other things, second-degree sexual assault of a child, a charge he has pleaded not guilty to.
The exact nature of the threats is unclear, but Sheriff Dannels told DailyMail.com they were received “outside of social media.”
“We don’t tolerate any kind of threat or intent to commit violence, so we’re going to find him. He’s going to jail,” Dannels said.
“He’s a registered sex offender here in Cochise County, and we were looking for him. He’s out of compliance as part of his offenses. So we’re looking for him on that count.
“We’re going to arrest him for that. But also the fact that his wrist was clearly pointed at this event. So we want to talk to him about that.”
While Dannels indicated that security was being ramped up ahead of the speech, Secret Service snipers could be seen perched on a crane monitoring the area.
