Things got awkward at the Love Island villa on Wednesday night when the results of the Heart Rate Challenge were announced.
Viewers couldn’t help but laugh after on-and-off couple Lana and Ron had their heart rate increased by other people.
The infamous segment made its return and saw the islanders strip down to sexy ensembles and go to great lengths to try and get hearts racing.
But the results left fans in shock after Ron’s heart rate was raised mostly by new girl Claudia and Lana’s by Casey.
On Twitter, one fan wrote, “The fact that the new girl got Ron’s heart rate up the most,” along with a series of smiley faces.

Meanwhile, not all viewers were surprised by Ron’s results, with one viewer quipping, “Why am I not surprised?”
Over the years, the heart rate challenge has caused tension between couples after someone other than their partner raised their pulse rate.
Also unexpected, or perhaps not, was the result of Tanyel, whose heart rate was raised mainly by ‘best friend’ Ron.
Viewers weren’t surprised by the result with one viewer saying, “Shock over Tanyel’s racing heart for her BEST FRIEND.”
Another said: ‘Oh, I can’t keep defending Tanyel, she wants Ron.’
“Yh Tanyel is not getting over Ron’s accusations,” said another fan.
Meanwhile, just a day earlier, Lana made a U-turn with her decision to get back together with Casey when she admitted her heart was still with Ron.

And after telling Ron how she felt, the pair sealed the deal with a steamy kiss in full view of the other islanders, prompting viewers to brand her ‘ruthless’ and ‘distrustful’.
Fans on Twitter were quick to voice their views, with several not happy with the way Lana did things.
“Lana please, I beg you to have some respect for yourself, it’s literally been a day since you ‘thrown out’ Ron,” said one viewer.
With a second addition: ‘Bless Casey, Lana and Ron’s disrespect for him is so disgusting.’
A third raged: ‘Lana is absolutely vile. Imagine having the ability to treat someone (Casey) like that… heartless bitch #loveisland and none of the islanders are calling her out on her disgusting behavior!
‘Lana is not misleading anyone by saying that Casey was a test. You didn’t like him,’ ranted a fourth observer.
“I can’t believe Ron and Lana kissed like that in front of Casey,” a fifth person ranted in surprise.
With another addition: ‘KISS RIGHT BEHIND HIM. Naaah the disrespect, I wouldn’t accept it.’
Earlier in the evening, Lana opted to tell Casey the truth, after they shared a bed and she wished she had been with Ron.
Pulling him out for a chat in the garden, she said: “I still feel like my heart is somewhere else.”
Lana went on to tell him, ‘Maybe I need to have my time with Ron, I got back together with you for a reason, I think you’re amazing, I think you’re really handsome and you’re a great guy.’
Clarifying, Casey asked, ‘You’re still not sure about your decision and you still want to…?’
However, Lana replied that she “is sure” before joking that she’s an “excellent wing woman”, prompting Casey to walk off.
Undeterred, Lana then fixed her gaze on Ron and said, “When I got together with Casey, I probably made a bit of a rash decision.”
She added that Casey was a “huge test”, before confirming that her heart went out to Ron because she “missed” him.
But when the two got closer again, Casey was furious as he fumed, “Oh my God, I feel like a head of a***!”
He then asked, ‘Are they taking the p*ss?’ after it was confirmed that Ron and Lana had locked lips.
Later in the night, an upset Casey criticized Lana for treating him like a mug, while telling her that he didn’t appreciate the ‘wingwoman’ comment.
He added that their kiss put salt in the wound and then he went to sleep alone in the day bed.
