Ron DeSantis responds to Trump indictment rumors and attacks ‘Soros-funded’ prosecutor Alvin Bragg

Ron DeSantis rips into ‘Soros-funded’ DA Alvin Bragg as he FINALLY responds to Trump impeachment rumors: Florida governor says ‘I don’t know what’s involved in paying hush money to a porn star’ — and reproaches the prosecution for “arming” his office

Ron DeSantis attacked “Soros-funded” prosecutor Alvin Bragg for creating a “manufactured circus” in his initial remarks about rumors that Donald Trump will be indicted.

The Florida governor made the remarks Monday after Trump’s inner circle criticized him for remaining silent on claims the former president will be arrested Tuesday in the Stormy Daniels hush money case.

It presents Trump’s likely rivals for the 2024 Republican nomination with a dilemma: Will they take the opportunity to bash the former president for his indiscretions, or will they stay away for fear of alienating the boisterous, restless party base?

DeSantis managed to do both, saying he didn’t know “what’s involved in paying hush money to a porn star to keep quiet about some alleged affair,” before accusing Bragg of driving New York’s rising crime and go after Trump instead.

“So I’ve seen rumors swirling around, I haven’t seen any facts yet,” he said. “The Manhattan District Attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor.”

“He, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, are arming their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety,” DeSantis said.

“He has downgraded more than 50 percent of crimes to misdemeanors. He says he doesn’t even want jail time for the vast majority of crimes.

“What I can say is if you have a prosecutor who ignores crimes that happen every day in his jurisdiction, and he chooses to go back many, many years ago, to try and use something about porn star hush money payments .

“You know, that’s an example of pursuing a political agenda and arming the office.”

Soros is a favorite target of conservatives. Since the January 6 assassination attempt on Congress, he has used his extensive wealth to support candidates he says promote democracy and the rule of law.

But extremists in the far reaches of the internet have used his family history to suggest that he is part of a Jewish conspiracy that secretly wields the levers of power.
