Ron DeSantis insists he can BEAT Biden if he runs in 2024 hits Trump’s ‘chaotic ‘ leadership

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis implicitly hit out at the Trump White House’s “daily drama” in a new interview, where he brushed off the former president’s chosen insult to him and the “underlying behavior” of the Stormy Daniels’ hush’ money deal cited .

In a potential 2024 preview, DeSantis spoke at length about what he described as shortcomings of his potential presidential rival, highlighting his strong re-election victory and preferring himself to “policy wins” over “chaos.”

“I also think only in terms of my approach to leadership, I get staff in government who have the agenda of the people and share our agenda,” he told interviewer Piers Morgan during a sit-down interview at the Florida governor’s mansion.

The pushback came on a day when Trump ally Steve Bannon lectured DeSantis about a “weasel approach” by bringing up the porn star at the center of a looming possible impeachment against Trump.

‘Bring your own agenda and you’re gone. We’re just not going to have that. So the way we run the government I think is not a day-to-day drama, focus on the big picture and put points on the board and I think that’s a really important thing,” DeSantis said.

He said he was “okay” with Trump’s nickname Ron DeSanctimonious for him, with the Ivy League-educated former Navy attorney brushing off the blow by saying he doesn’t know what it means.

“I don’t know how to spell the sanctimonious. I don’t know exactly what it means, but I like it. It is long, it has many vowels. We agree, that’s fine.’

“I mean, you can call me whatever you want as long as you call me a winner too, because that’s what we’ve been able to do in Florida, put a lot of points on the board and really take this state to the top. next level,” he said – trying to turn the tables on Trump.

He brushed off the daily blasts, which have increased in frequency in recent weeks, though Trump maintains a wide lead over DeSantis and other potential rivals.

“For me it’s just background noise. Arguing with people on social media is not important to me. It accomplishes nothing for the people I represent,” he said, referring to Trump’s Twitter battles for millions of followers.

DeSantis repeated his statements about not knowing about paying a porn star, in a slightly different language. Trump has repeatedly denied having a sexual affair with Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, saying they had an affair in 2006.

“So we’re really just focusing on getting victories, day after day, and if I got involved in all the drag work, I couldn’t be an affectionate governor,” he said.

He stood by his repeated statements that he knows nothing about paying a “porn star” – something he said twice, criticizing the Trump investigation that could lead to an indictment in Manhattan. However, he did not repeat the phrase in the interview, following an angry response from Trump and his allies.

“Well, there’s a lot of speculation about what the underlying behavior is. It would be, and the reality is it’s just outside my wheelhouse. I mean, that’s just not something I can talk to,” he said.

DeSantis said Monday he didn’t know “what’s involved in paying hush money to a porn star to get silence about some alleged affair.”

Trump ally Steve Bannon called it a “weasel approach,” and Trump responded with a statement questioning DeSantis’ sexuality.

“Ron DeSanctimonious will likely find out about FALSE ALLEGATIONS & FALSE STORY sometime in the future, as he gets older, wiser and better known, when he is unfairly and illegally assaulted by a woman, even classmates who are ‘underage’ (or possibly a man !),’ Trump wrote Monday.

“I’m sure he wants to fight these misfits just like me!” Trump added on his Truth Social platform.

DeSantis also flatly said he could beat President Joe Biden, though again he stopped short of saying he would run.

“Do you think you can beat Biden?” Morgan asked him.

“I think so,” he replied.

“If I ran,” he said, “I would run against Biden. Like us [him and Trump] competing for the Republican, possibly, I get that, but ultimately you know the guy I’m going to focus on is Biden, because I think he’s failed the country. I think the country wants a change. I think they want a fresh start and a new direction and so we’re going to be very clear on that,” he said.
