Ron DeSantis asks why the FBI didn’t go after Hunter – and says his daughter can paint better than him

Ron DeSantis mocked 53-year-old Hunter Biden for his expensive artwork, saying that if he were a Republican he would already be in jail for his shady foreign affairs and criminal tax fraud. Florida’s governor told Fox News that the Republican focus has not only brought to light these shady and illegal dealings by the president’s son, but also shines a spotlight on the disparity of justice between people on the left and people on the right has put.
This unequal treatment was displayed even more prominently by Hunter’s former Burisma associate, Devon Archer (pictured right), who testified behind closed doors with House Republicans on Monday. He reportedly told Oversight Republicans that there were several dozen instances where he overheard President Biden discussing business with his son over speaker while employees were nearby.
“Well, that’s why we say there are two standards of justice,” DeSantis told Fox News host Bret Baier. “If Hunter were a Republican, he’d be in jail right now.” “Look at all that smoke. And yet the FBI – Where are the search warrants? Where’s the grand jury? Where’s the aggressiveness they’ve shown going after some Republicans?” he wondered. DeSantis added, “You just don’t see (it).” The 2024 runner-up Republican said Trump had failed to “drain the swamp” and ensure the federal government has no bias against Republicans. “You know, Donald Trump was president for four years,” he told Baier. “This problem got worse under him, he failed to drain the swamp.”
While DeSantis has honed his criticism of Trump, his No. 1 primary election contestant, in recent months, he agrees that the former president has been treated unfairly by President Biden’s Justice Department. Democrats argue that Republicans are politically motivated in their case against Hunter’s shady foreign business dealings, and whether he used his father’s influence to enrich the Biden family. “They can get any piece of information,” DeSantis said of prosecutors. “They don’t do that with Hunter. Of course they didn’t do anything with Hillary in 2016. So we’re looking at that, but look at all possible corruption,” he added. Baier’s full interview with DeSantis airs Monday night on Fox News.
Part of that corruption, Florida’s governor and 2024 hopeful noted, is the prices paid for Hunter’s amateur paintings. According to reports, Hunter earned $1.3 million for his first-ever art show — another reason Republicans claim he uses President Biden’s influence to enrich himself, his father, and his family.
DeSantis said his kids could paint better paintings than the president’s 53-year-old recovering drug addict son. “I mean, Hunter, he sells handpicked paintings for over $1,000,000,” DeSantis complained. “You know, my six-year-old daughter paints better than he does. Maybe we’ll hang ours and see what she confesses to.’ He admitted, “I don’t think we’re going to get $1,000,000 on it.” Pictured: Florida’s first daughter Madison DeSantis, 6, drew a vase filled with yellow flowers that her father said should be auctioned.
