Romeo Lavia gives Chelsea a major scare after ankle injury in training – with Blues sweating over results of scans for their new £58m midfielder
Chelsea will discover the extent of Romeo Lavia’s summer ankle injury on Saturday.
Midfielder Lavia underwent a scan on Friday after hurting himself in training on Thursday when he went over his ankle following a challenge.
Lavia underwent the problem after fears he had suffered some ligament damage, although Chelsea were awaiting results to find out the full severity of the injury.
The highly rated 19-year-old joined Chelsea from Southampton for £58 million last month and is yet to make his Blues debut.
He has been working on his fitness since his move, having not trained or played much for Southampton before his move. His future has been up in the air since the south coast’s relegation last season.
