A massive fire at a guest house in Romania has killed five people, including a child, authorities said.
Emergency intervention teams were deployed to the fire in the village of Tohani in Prahova province early on Tuesday morning.
According to the General Inspection for Emergency Situations, 26 people stayed in the guesthouse.
Before authorities confirmed the deaths of the fourth and fifth victims, search and rescue teams were set up to find five missing people.
It was not immediately clear whether the additional two deaths were among those missing.

Authorities said 18 people escaped the fire and two were treated for burns.
The medical director of the nearby Ploiesti County Emergency Hospital, Andrei Ilinca, revealed that a 47-year-old woman, who suffered burns to 5% of her body, face and one hand, is currently in hospital, while a 16-year-old year-old woman -old teenager was transferred to the 'Grigore Alexandrescu' hospital in the capital.
He has '5% body surface area burn, no problems. It is being investigated. He is still in the hospital in the plastic surgery department,” Dr. Raluca Alexandru, spokesperson for the Bucharest hospital, told Free Europe.
On Tuesday afternoon, authorities said the fire was extinguished just before 1 p.m. and the search for the missing persons continued.
The affected area covered approximately 1,000 square meters. There were no indications as to what caused the fire.

“A substantive audit was carried out for the intended objective in 2019, 6 irregularities were noted, one of which was identified during the audit, and 6 warnings were issued,” according to the Emergency Situations Inspectorate.
“At the time of the verification, there were no documents available to the inspectors proving the time of commissioning to establish the need to apply for and obtain the fire safety approval/authorization,” it added.
