Rolling Stones fans are convinced they have worked out the name of the first single from the band’s new album

Rolling Stones fans are convinced they came up with the name of the band’s new single after the release of a cryptic newspaper ad.

A recent ad promoting their new album, Hackney Diamonds, included a clue to the title, and fans think it’s going to be called “Angry.”

The ad in last week’s edition of the Hackney Gazette featured an ad for fake double glazing and a number to call.

When readers called the number, they heard a recording that read: “Welcome to Hackney Diamonds, glass repair specialists. Don’t get mad, get it fixed.”

The recording led some to think that ‘Angry’ could be the name of the new album’s lead single.

Big things are coming! Rolling Stones fans are convinced they came up with the name of the band’s new single after the release of a cryptic newspaper ad

Cryptic: The Rolling Stones announced their new album title Hackney Diamonds in a local newspaper

A source told The sun: ‘The Stones’ fans’ reception to the announcement was incredible. Angry is a nice cry, but they’ll just have to wait and see.’

The insider also reported that the band – which includes Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – will release the album at the end of October.

My music insider added, ‘The Stones are so proud of Hackney Diamonds and they can’t wait for their fans to hear it.

The album will be out at the end of October. They are convinced that this will be their fourteenth hit parade.’

The big reveal of the band’s new album name came in the form of a cryptic ad in the local paper last week.

They dropped a series of subtle hints that it was them behind the ad by using a small version of their iconic tongue logo to dot the “i” in the Diamonds brand name.

The logo for the name of their recent 60th anniversary tour is also one colorful redesign of the famous mouth.

In further hints in the ad copy, they mentioned the Stones’ 1965 hit Satisfaction, 1969’s Gimme Shelter, and the 1978 song Shattered.

Clever: The band’s record label placed the ad in the Hackney Gazette for eagle-eyed readers to find when purchasing the publication

The font used for Hackney Diamonds is also the same as that used on the 1978 Some Girls album.

The date mark at the bottom also stated that it was founded in 1962, referring to the year the group was founded.

The ad that appeared on page three of the newspaper on Monday also included a telephone number.

When you call the number, a recorded message says: ‘Welcome to Hackney Diamonds, glass repair specialists.

‘Don’t get mad, get it fixed – opening early September, Mare Street, E8. Sign up for an interview at www.hackneydiamonds.com – come along.”

The new album will be the first to be released since their drummer Charlie Watts passed away in August 2021.

Charlie’s publicist announced that he had passed away on August 24, 2021 at the age of 80.

The London-born drummer joined the then fledgling band in 1963 after meeting Mick, Keith and Brian Jones while playing in rhythm and blues clubs.

Slick: In further hints in the ad copy, they’ve mentioned the Stones’ 1965 hit Satisfaction, 1969’s Gimme Shelter, and the 1978 song Shattered (Mick is pictured)

Meaning: The date sign at the bottom also states that it was founded in 1962, referring to the year the group was founded

Along with Jagger and Richards, Watts appeared on every studio album by the band. He was widely regarded as one of the greatest drummers of all time.

Known for his deadpan humor, low-key conversational style, and love of tailored suits, his understated style was at odds with the flamboyant lifestyle of bandmates like Jagger and Richards.

He had one wife, Shirley, whom he married in 1964 before the band became a superstar. The couple, who live together in a rural village in Devon, rescued a greyhound from an animal shelter in Oxford last year.

Watts would tour the US with the band later that year as part of their ‘No Filter’ tour. But it was announced earlier in August 2021 that he would not be performing as he had to recover from recent emergency surgery.

Watts was the first member of The Rolling Stones to have a long stay and die of a disease of old age.

Loss: The new album will be the first to be released since their drummer Charlie Watts passed away in August 2021

Founding member and leader of The Stones, Jones, died in 1969 from an accidental drowning, shortly after being kicked out of the band.

Stones frontman Jagger marked Watts’ death by tweeting a smiling photo of his bandmate doing what he loved most – drumming.

Fellow bandmate Richards also followed up with a poignant tribute featuring an empty drum kit accompanied by a ‘closed sign’.

Watts’ London publicist, Bernard Doherty, said in a statement at the time: “It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts. He passed away peacefully in a London hospital surrounded by his family earlier today.
