Roll of a lifetime! Samuel L. Jackson follows in the footsteps of Robert De Niro and George Clooney as he takes over as the face of Warburtons in new TV advert
Samuel L. Jackson is the latest face of the UK’s biggest baking brand, Warburtons, joining a string of notable Hollywood legends including Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone and George Clooney.
In the new two-minute advert, the Pulp Fiction star, 74, looks ahead to the top job at the Warburtons company, alongside the bakery’s real chairman, Jonathan Warburton.
The clip opens in Warburtons head office is based in Bolton, with the actor taking over from chairman Jonathan Warburton – much to the surprise of his assistant.
The Django Unchained star donned the president’s signature blue shirt and orange tie, as he turned to the camera and said: “Hello, I’m Jonathan Warburton, chairman of the UK’s largest family bakery. ”
In a typically hilarious advert – which celebrates Warburtons’ dedication to making the best quality bread – Samuel shares a social post in which bread lover Steve questions the similarity of Warburtons’ much-loved Toastie bread to its rivals.

That’s when the actor fumes: “What gives?!” The tweety pie is me – Jonathan Warburton. I GIVE! And hell hath no fury like that of a scorned baker, Steve.
The comedic clip is followed by a montage of “Jonathan” furiously recalling the effort that goes into making the perfect Toastie bread, as he remarked that it was “filled with the bakery’s unique blend of wheat and 147 years of ‘baking expertise’.
The Hollywood sensation then peeked into the doorway of Steve’s parents’ house, breakfast time, swapping their ‘Warburtons Aspirant’ toast for the real deal of the superior Warburtons Toastie.
The advert then showed a glimpse of Warburtons’ efforts to bake the perfect loaf as Samuel is captured testing its softness, butteriness and springiness, which he assures viewers “is a thing !”
The Shaft icon appears at the bakery as the perfect Toastie bread is pictured in all its glory, before he finally knocks down Jonathan’s office door to meet the real president who agrees with Samuel when he comments : “I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Speaking about his latest advert, the Hollywood legend said: “It was a pleasure to meet the man at the helm of Britain’s biggest family bakery. And what an honor to follow in the footsteps of “Bolton alumni” George Clooney and Robert DeNiro.
“We had a lot of fun on set, so I hope people enjoy the finished product – the commercial AND Toastie Loaf!”
