Roger Federer, Dwyane Wade and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson are among the sports stars on the Oscars red carpet, along with John Cena, who appeared on stage to present an award naked.

Federer – the record holder for most Wimbledon titles (eight) – looked dapper as ever in a white tuxedo jacket and black trousers as he stole the show wearing Rolex’s Daytona edition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Le Mans.

He arrived at the 96th Academy Awards with his wife Miraslova ‘Mirka’, who herself was elegant in a long black dress with a white Peter Pan collar, matching buttons and white accents on the sleeves.

Wade – a three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat – wore a similar outfit to Federer by wearing a Versace, white and black double-breasted blazer and slim black trousers. A subtle brooch adorned the lapel of his jacket.

His wife and actress Gabrielle Union stood by his side in a glittering, strapless, custom-made Carolina Herrera gown.

But ‘The Rock’ didn’t shine nearly as much as the former professional basketball player, who shares an alternate spelling of his first name, with many questioning the wrestler’s taste in fashion.

He arrived at Sunday’s ceremony at the Dolby Theater in a metallic silver Dolce & Gabbana suit, with a burgundy silk shirt that almost showed off his navel.

But former professional wrestler, John Cena, stole the spotlight at the awards ceremony when he appeared on stage wearing no clothes and covering his genitals with just an envelope to present the winner for Best Costume Design.

“Costumes… they are so important,” he said before a crowd of thousands of actors, producers and other members of film production crews, as he stood with nothing to cover his body.

Visibly embarrassed by what is one of the most memorable introductions from an award winner in years, he added: “Maybe the most important thing is…I can’t open the envelope…”

Poor Things’ Holly Waddington was ultimately declared the winner in that category.
