Rod Stewart’s son Sean marries Jody Weintraub in impromptu ceremony in Las Vegas

Sean Stewart surprised his family by announcing that he had married television producer Jody Weintraub in an impromptu ceremony.

The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas on Valentine’s Day, with Sean, who was recently hospitalized after a horrific highway collision, proposing over a romantic dinner and the couple made things official just hours later.

The couple, who have known each other since high school, are said to have married at Little Church of the West while wearing their normal clothes.

According PEOPLESean wore jeans and a YSL sweater, while the bride donned a black paisley jumpsuit for the ceremony.

While it’s unclear how long the couple have been dating, they’ve kept in touch since their teens due to having a mutual friend at production company Courtenay Semel.

Jody is the daughter of the late Hollywood producer Jerry Weintraub and has a five-year-old son from his first marriage who is said to be a “big fan” of Sean.

A source told the publication: ‘They are both very family-oriented people. They both have famous families, they just get along.

After Sean proposed to her, he reportedly called his mother Alana on his way to court, but Alana didn’t think he was serious.

The source revealed that after sending the family photos of the occasion, Alana was left in tears and “so happy for him” while “her father was so happy to hear the news.”

The newlyweds celebrated their Los Angeles wedding with Sean’s parents as the group headed to dinner at Nobu in Malibu.

Alana was Rod’s first wife and they were married in 1979 but divorced five years later. In addition to Sean, the couple shares their 43-year-old daughter Kimberly.

Documenting the dinner on Instagram, Alana wrote: ‘Congratulations to my son @seanstewart and his beautiful girlfriend @jody_weintraubstewart who surprised us all with a spontaneous wedding in Las Vegas.

‘I’m so happy for you two! ❤️ #wedding #marriage #love.’

Sean’s rocky past has been well documented, but in 2015 he insisted that he was back on track and would not go off the rails.

“It’s a totally clean slate,” Sean told Daily Mail Australia. “I couldn’t imagine getting into something fueled by drugs or alcohol at this point in my life, you know, that’s not even a problem,” he added.

Sean previously made headlines for a string of arrests and his fight with drugs, but thanks to a stint on the TV show Celebrity Rehab, he said he was now excited to wake up in the morning.

‘The truth is that I’m over it [that lifestyle]and far beyond,” he explained to Daily Mail Australia.

“It’s been a couple of decades since my life was like this, and it’s so much fun now because I wake up in the morning and what excites me is boxing and getting my heart rate and endorphins up.

‘And then I’m going to get a juice,’ he said. ‘I am in such a new chapter in my life where my health and well-being are my main concern. I feel good, I feel healthy.

In 2002, he served 90 days in jail for being outside a nightclub and attacking a man, and five years later he was denied entry to a party in Los Angeles and attacked a couple with a brick.

In 2010, he was also arrested after a traffic violation and had a warrant out for his arrest at the time.

Despite promising to turn the page, Sean found himself in trouble with the law again in 2021.

However, assault charges against Sean and his father Rod were later dropped, and the couple avoided jail for a New Year’s Eve assault on a security guard.

Rod and his son Sean avoided jail time and a potentially embarrassing trial due to start in September 2021 for their role in the fight at the exclusive Palm Beach resort.

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed in September 2021 that Sir Rod’s legal team reached a deal with prosecutors in which Stewart and his son pleaded no contest to the simple assault charge.

The father and son were each charged with one misdemeanor after The Breakers Palm Beach surveillance cameras caught wrestler Rod throwing a punch at a security guard with Sean intervening in the fight on the night of September 31. December 2019.

In exchange for his guilty plea, the singer and his son escaped conviction, a criminal record and time behind bars, his attorney Guy Fronstin said.

Meanwhile IIt was a holiday weekend for the Stewart family as Rod also celebrated the impending birth of her new grandchild as daughter Ruby prepares to welcome a baby boy.

He reunited with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg, whom he dated from 1983 to 1990, as they partied with guests including first wife Alana and actress Tina Hillstrom at the baby shower.

Mom-to-be Ruby and her fiancé Jake Kalick hosted a party featuring cake, a raw food bar, and improvised music by Rod, who sang What A Wonderful World with fellow grandpa-to-be Harold Kalick.

Ruby later wrote of the event: ‘I woke up this morning with an aching face from laughter and a full heart.

Rod’s second celebration in days comes after his son Sean married Jody Weintraub after a romantic Valentine’s Day in Las Vegas.

Jody changed her last name on Instagram to Weintraub Stewart and spent a Valentine’s Day in Las Vegas at the Wynn hotel with Sean brforr the two got married.
